Fifty Shades of….. oh my!

So I have finally submitted to the peer pressure that is circulating rightnow and read the Fifty Shades trilogy – in 2 days!

I honestly don’t get all the hype really, but I guess its appealing to the bored housewives, mummies and anyone else who thinks that this kind of book is taboo. But since it has gone mainstream its ok to indulge in a little fantasy. The books have brought erotica out of the dark and being taboo to being mainstream, which I think is great.

I did find it a little tame for my liking, (as I am a long time erotica reader, so I do tend to read the more hardcore stuff – there I admit it!) however, I loved the series!!

The fact that I am going to read it again, says something. It has peaked my imagination that woman all over the world are swooning over this fictional character – its not something I do very often, Eric from True Blood, Edward from Twilight and now Christian Grey….. that’s about my lot when it comes fictional characters that I would gladly wish were real.

Secretly I think everyone who has read the book wants to indulge in a little spanking, I may be wrong, but judging by the sales of the book I think I have a pretty safe bet on being correct on that matter. I just wonder how many people would openly admit it to other people…… ;)

I am currently working on writing reviews on all the 60 + books I have read this year so far so you can look out for a proper review later’s baby!

Emma has admittedly made some bad decisions in her life, but she was positive that being with Teren Adams wasn’t one of them. He was everything she’d ever wanted in a man – kind, caring, loyal, loving, and on occasion, a hopeless romantic. True, he was also a vampire, or partially so, and had recently joined the ranks of the undead, but to Emma, that was inconsequential. She was his, he was hers, and she could not wait to be his bride, to mother his children, and to stay by his side for as long as her mortal life would allow her to. At least…that was the plan.

Yet again another good read! The book focuses on emma and her pregnancy that gets jeopardised when she gets bitten by a vampire! Rather than lose Emma and the babies Teren does the only think he could do – give her his blood.

The book see Teren almost go mad at what he has done to her, as Emma is now a mixed like him, but since no one has been turned and survive whilst pregnant he goes looking for other mixed.

Can’t wait to get started on the the third book!

100 books – number 7

Ryne Taylor was a sexy bad-ass Alpha set on establishing a new pack. Melody Greene was a journalism student researching his work as a photographer—or so she said. But could Mel really be trusted or had she stumbled upon his secret? And if she knew, could Ryne save himself and the pack he’d left behind without enacting a deadly ancient law known as The Keeping?

This is the follow up The Keeping and focuses on the character Ryne. He moves to a little place called Stump River in Canada to start his own pack  after what happened in the previous book.

A reporter starts snooping around him for an interview with him on the back of accepting a job from some rich man who is facinated with wolves.

I loved how the story unfolded as to the reasons behind the mysterious rich dude wanting information on Ryne and his werewolve abilities. Miss Greene gets caught up in all and the outcome wasnt one I really expected – even though I kinda thought I might happen that way.

Again a great book by Nicky Charles and one I would recommed if you read The Mating.

100 Books – number 6

The Mating

Elise had no idea when she came home that day that she’d end up mated to a complete stranger. A new Alpha and the need for an alliance between packs have made her a pawn.

This one I couldnt put down – not excatly a good book to read when at work as it kinda classed as erotica ! But that made it more fun to read :)

Anyway, this book is about Werewolves. Not really read many books involving werewolves, but since I seem to be on a paranormal theme I thought I would give these one a try – after reading Forever In Time by the same author I pretty much guessed I would enjoy this one.

Elise bascially gets mated to the Alpha of another pack – without even knowing or meeting the guy beforehand. The other charcters she meets in the new pack welcome her all bar one – Marla.

I just knew she was trouble from the first time Elise encountered her and as the story progressed found myself wanting to shout you are looking at the wrong person!

Spoilers would ensue if I went into to much more detail.

Check this book out though if paranormal is your thing :)
