Jack had his school eye test a few weeks ago that resulted in him requireing a follow-up appointment with the optician at the hospital.

It didn’t surprise me to be honest the amount of time he spends in the iPad (on the few occasions he is allowed it) – the school test showed he had trouble with his right eye when looking at small letters etc.

Today we had the appointment at the hospital.

He was very brave, as he needed to get eye drops to dilate the pupils and then wait 20 mins to get examined. I remember they are quite nippy, so I was glad he was ok with it.

After our 20 min wait, he was examined and out about 10 min later.

Apparently he has a stigma on his right eye, and has oval eyes instead of round. So he will require glasses for a few years to help correct the stigma, and regular eye tests.

My wee boy needs glasses! Now we get to go shopping tomorrow to get pick out glasses and get his prescription ordered,  thank god for the NHS, as don’t need to pay for them!

It will be weird seeing him in glasses, but then again if it helps his eyes then I don’t care. I have to wear glasses for driving and supposedly for reading and watching tv – but only really wear then for driving. Oops…

I wonder what will suit him – he is asking for batman glasses. But sadly don’t think they make them… Lol
