Check-up

Was a the midwife today for my22-24wk checkup.

She is happy with my bump and how the baby is postioned (she had cold hands by the way!) and generally happy with everything.

Got to hear its little heart again – going 50 to the dozen once again. Its keep moving everytime she found the heart beat so too her ages to track it down long enough to record the beats – little bugger!

It hasnt stopped moving all day! Not major kicks but enough to know its restless, at least its not waking me up during the night so I cant really complain I guess =)

Lee is now able to feel it kicking away and punching for what ever it happends to be doing so he is well chuffed at that.

The midwife took some bloods today as I had mentioned that I am getting palpatations at night maybe for about 5 – 10 mins when im relaxing in bed, so she is going to send off to check my full blood count to make sure everything is ok and that its just pregnancy related palps – so fingers crossed.

So right now I am sporting a lovely little plaster on my right arm which looks like underneath is going to turn into a lovely little bruise. she has a hard time getting the vien today for some odd reason = and have to admit she has been the only one who has had any trouble so she was poking about it ! urgh!

Speaking bruises my ankle is now finally bruise free but still really swollen…. urgh. It has now been a month since i sprained it so i guess im just looking for it to dissapear overnight, which aint going to happen as it can take 5 months to heal properly.

Ah well blabbed on enough off to get something to eat =)

  1. Weird, about your veins that is. I think it comes and goes. I’ve had issues recently while donating blood. They’ve not been able to find my veins – which is odd for me. I know this from all of the times I’ve had IV’s while in the hospital for care.

    Strange things!

  2. Most of the time, I get blood taken from the veins in my hands. It is very common for this to happen. Sometimes it is easy and sometimes your veins do not want to cooperate.

For your ankle, try to keep putting cold compresses once every day for 15 minutes. You may want to work it a little bit with simple stretches too so you do not get too much scar tissue build up.

  3. I’m glad things are fine with your baby 🙂

Ugh, blood tests are sucky :/ I’m terrified of needles and my veins tend to be tricky to find so I always end up all bruised after a blood test 🙁

  4. Glad to hear the check-up went well…except for having to give blood. Always my least favorite part! I have palpitations that seem to be caused by fatigue. I am kinda worried about how they may be when I become pregnant.
